2020 sure was a disasterous year for most of us. I did manage to get lots of new pieces done, but with no shows to help generate sales, I am still the proud owner of most of them.
The third installment of Change of Leads is coming along. I had hoped to get it out sooner than this, but the pandemic delayed many things from working out. I do expect to get the manuscript back from my editor by next week. Then I can start going through her suggestions. The front cover is close to complete and I will likely use one of my own photographs for the back cover. This will save some time. I started out with another idea for this cover, but with my shoulder not cooperating, I decided to do a faster, simpler design. Though different from my usual covers, I like it. This might be the beginning of a new trend. Along with that, two of the three interior illustrations have been started. Things are on the move.
However, they are on the move in another way, as well.
My husband and I have decided to sell the studio and then begin our search for a larger house so we can combine our studio/gallery and our residence into one location. We're not sure where we'll end up, but it is likely we will be leaving Western Washington. We will be going on a road trip in late spring to check out various areas and then make a final decision. If we can find what we want here on Camano Island, at a price we can afford, then we would consider staying. But with the cost of living already high, and getting higher all the time, I kind of doubt this will happen.
So, we are now busy with getting the studio house packed up and ready to list. Not only is this taking time away from my art and writing, but it isn't helping my poor shoulder to heal. Once the studio is listed, then I can relax a bit and focus on getting book three completed and out there. I hope to have it published before we move.
We're off on another adventure.
